The 2018 Midterms on Snapchat
Lead Copywriter — In-App Copy / Video
Over 70% of 13 to 34 year-olds in the US can be found on our app. It’s 95% for 13 to 24. And with an important election just weeks away, Snapchat put out all the stops to help Snapchatters make their voice heard. It was my creative team’s job to show them how.
Some key deliverables:
- Two Chats and Snaps sent to all 18+ US Snapchatters: One for reminding Snapchatters to register, and another for Election Day.
- A Team Snapchat Story on the Discover screen of the app
- Custom-made AR Lenses, Stickers, and decorative Filters
Midterms 2018 | Voter Registration
Our first Snap was sent to 18+ US Snapchatters just a few weeks before voter registration deadline. While watching, Snapchatters could swipe up to get sent directly to our partner site, TurboVote. On day one, there was so much traffic that it actually crashed TurboVote’s site for a period of time.
For Snapchatters who have their phone’s default language set to Spanish, they received a Spanish language Snap as well.

Midterms 2018 | Election Day
Our second Snap was sent to 18+ US Snapchatters on Election Day. By swiping up, Snapchatters could find their polling location.
