The Acorns Long game

When it comes to investing, Acorns preaches slow, steady, long-term investing. While it may take longer to reach your goals, playing the long game makes getting there more attainable. In the summer of 2023, we looked to bring that idea to life by partnering with professional tennis player, Tommy Paul.

The Acorns Long Game worked like this: for every match Tommy Paul played in the 2023 US Open, we’d take the total number of hits in his longest rally and multiply it by $1,000. We’d then invest that total into a new Acorns customer’s investment account. The idea being: you can’t just ace your way to victory. Every serve, hit, and rally adds up and sets you up for the win. Long term investing's no different. You invest consistently and regularly over the long run to get to where you want to be.
